Happy Hour is Back!

Visitors, guests and longtime stakeholders can visit MiKaza during DTLA’s most exciting happy hours. Located in the heart of the Historic Core and part of the Bringing Back Broadway movement, MiKaza is in the center of today’s DTLA activity.

Founder Danny Rodriguez has always been part of the arts community. Whether it is as a film producer or restaurateur, he is always expressing his creative side and telling a story. After years of traveling the world and producing content, he decided to utilize his resources to develop a unique culinary brand.

Chef Miguel Torres and Sushi Chef Elizabeth Valencia have teamed up for this new venture. Chef Torres is an Argentinian chef whose resume includes Osaka, recognized as one of the top 50 restaurants in Latin America, and Fabric Sushi. He has built a name for himself by offering innovative dishes featuring the flavors and craft of his Peruvian roots.

Elizabeth Valencia is one of Los Angeles most celebrated sushi chefs. Chef Valencia has thrived in a male (and Japanese male) dominated tradition. She has built a name for herself during her 18 year tenure at Hama Sushi in Venice Beach, California. Chef Elizabeth’s’ latest venture has been at Wabi on Rose before joining the MiKaza team.

“We always knew we needed a heavyweight talent to do this concept and the right environment. When Chef Torres became available and the Spring Arcade Building offered a spot that had previously been a sushi concept, we knew we had to move. It clearly wasn’t what the ‘experts’ said was a good time to open a restaurant, but I am from LA… and we need something to celebrate and bring us together. We are excited about being a leader in this community and making DTLA the destination for great experiences once again!” Rodriguez said.

Together, they have created an exciting menu that is sure to be celebrated by downtown. They are leading an expert kitchen staff along with a dedicated group of servers and mixologists that are taking extra precautions to make the dining experience memorable and safe.

MiKaza Es Su MiKaza

In May 2015, Pablito’s Kitchen launched as a food truck. Rodriguez’s company also owned the Northern California development rights to Canadian chain Smoke’s Poutinerie, with its first location and food truck in Berkeley. In his newest venture with MiKaza, Rodriguez sought out world renowned culinary artist in Chef Miguel Torres, an Argentinian chef whose resume includes Osaka, recognized as one of the top 50 restaurants in Latin America, and Fabric Sushi.
