Little Tokyo Street Fair: A Gift-Buying Oasis of Joy, Culture and Rare Treasures

Downtown’s seasonal Little Tokyo Street Fair, just outside of Weller Court Shopping Center where E. 2nd hits San Pedro Street, is a spectacle of joy, tradition, and commerce.

It’s an otherworldly gift-buying haven, within a corridor of lantern-lit tranquility where vendors stack miracles and crowds breathe in joy and exhale the city’s stress.

The fair, being held on December 6th, is the joyous endeavor brought to Little Tokyo by Bozu Plant, a rare horticultural oddity known as Downtown’s Lucky Charm, found only at the fair and a few other places in town.

Over the years, the community fair has evolved into something closer to a theatrical holiday play of vendors, local artists, and interactive displays, powered by a surge of small business support that carves its own special stage out of downtown Los Angeles.

The opening act, the Kiosk Boyz, are always present, always prophetic, and always selling one of one fashion items and bespoke designs. Over the past five years, the Kiosk Boyz have not only designed some of the most passionate streetwear for local celebs and talent on the rise, but they’ve managed to celebrate the future of Japanese-American culture, with their unique mix of traditional imagery and street flair ingenuity.

Amid gentle winds, eager attendants, compact and radiant, the fair comes alive with an otherworldly pulse inviting visitors to stroll within the same space as the Ellison S. Onizuka monument, honoring NASA’s first Japanese-American astronaut in space.

Upon site, visitors of one of downtown’s busiest tourist attractions can’t help but explore what the fair has to offer.

Enjoy all you can eat sushi and a tsunami of sake, teas, wagyu ramen, and karaoke at Weller Court’s tri-level shopping mall available to visitors from all over the world.

This memorable confluence of culture, commerce, and community—Little Tokyo Street Fair will be held on December 6th, with the joy and tranquility of the Little Tokyo Street Fair welcoming all visitors from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. @bozu_la
