
The Dodgers, in conjunction with 11 other professional sports organizations in Los Angeles, came together to host a donation event to benefit recent victims of this month’s Los Angeles wildfires on, January 17.
The Dodger Stadium event will featured players and volunteers from the Dodgers, Galaxy, Kings and Sparks organizations, with a variety of donation items from contributing sponsorship groups.
Dodgers and Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation provided transportation to and from evacuation sites and Los Angeles County Care Camps for over 800 individuals who collected essential items including apparel, shoes, hygiene kits, school supplies and food.
Individuals and families were giving multiple clothing and shoe donations and more than $3 million worth of Dodger’s from Fanatics and the Fanatics Foundation with more gear donated by New Era.
Among the donated items were blankets, shirts, bags and school supplies while families picked up dog and cat meal topper treats and bins of Kettle corn and clean snacks, probiotic milk drinks, Kombucha and hydration bottles. Vouchers for free meals at select Panda Express locations were also given out.
Baby2Baby, a national nonprofit which has already distributed over 4 million emergency supplies to children who have been impacted by the fires, passed out, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and masks), diapers, formula, socks, comfort items, warm coats, toys, duffel bags, blankets and food.
Earlier this week, the 12 professional teams in Los Angeles announced a combined donation of more than $8 million to support victims of the wildfires in the surrounding areas and those fighting the fires. www.dodgers.com,
