Sunday nights are just one of the evenings dedicated to live jazz performances at downtown’s iconic Los Angeles Athletic Club. From Tuesday through Sunday, the stage transforms the quiet, whiskey-infused study known as the Invention Bar into a cabaret featuring rotating live bands. This “intimate, elegant supper club,” located on the third floor of the members-only establishment, offers listeners bar bites and music over light conversation, all while they sip craft cocktails. Dinner inside the Invention Bar starts from 5:00p.m to 8:30p.m, with live jazz music playing from 6:00p.m to 8:30p.m most nights. Hosting one of Downtown’s longest-running jazz nights, the Continental Club is a chance to step into the classic underground world of jazz. Riding on the Metro at Union Station
Want to hear jazz but are not in the mood to visit a bar or restaurant? Metro Art and Kjazz present Jazz Tracks, a free concert being held Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Union Station Historic Ticket Concourse, from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. The event is hosted by lauded Kjazz DJ Rhonda Hamilton and features performances from Darynn Dean, Isaiah Collier, and Kassa Overall. In addition to providing a really cool free event, Metro Art is also giving the first 40 visitors who present their TAP cards a free Metro Art book, Los Angeles Through the Eyes of Artists. The Rhythm Room L.A. is a subterranean bar located in the basement of the Hotel Hayward in the Historic Core that features live jazz on a regular basis. Zaya is a must-hit for jazz music lovers who love to dance. Since its grand opening in February, Zaya has become synonymous with live music and an even livelier dance floor, easily heard and seen by passersby late into the night.
