Sit right back and you’ll hear a tale, alright. Of seven or ten or so hungry castaways – aboard a tiny ship.
The ship, a beautifully buoyant 36ft yacht departed from beautiful Newport Beach Saturday, Jan 21st with DJ selections by Victoria Van Damm, filled with delicious bites catered by Downtown’s favorite eateries Kaviar Restaurant, PI^LA, Native Son Brewery, Cookie Dip Company, and Alfi Cooks LLC.
Presented in part by FLCKN, a soon to launch crowdsourced review app, Model Mafia and Downtown Weekly, guests were invited from a list of those who tested the new app, which boast an experience through verified video, advanced algorithms and AI.
FLCKN, which may just be the future of food apps, is billed as the ultimate online review app for users and influencers, plus a powerful brand-amplifying tool for business owners.
Once downloaded, users can review their experiences with the use FLCKS, tiny read hands with one to five fingers up, each representing their level of enjoyment.
With the official launch slated for early this year, what better way to show appreciation to those who downloaded the app and actually gave a flick?
A Slice of the Goodlife
Before boarding, Captain Mike and VIP guests were treated to gourmet pizza bits provided by PI^LA. Spending most days inside his new pizza shop located inside the Harlem Alley on 4th Street, famed Chef Fred Eric of Vida, Airstream, Olive, Liberty Grill, and 24-Hour Retro Diner Fred62, created PI^LA as an entire new pizza concept. Smoked salmon, potato gratin, pulled pork belly, and roasted pumpkin, may not be your average pizza toppings, but they do make for pizzas of tremendous flavor on the docks never the less. https://pila213.com
Who ever said it was too cold to take a dip?
Food voyagers discovered the only thing better than sweet cookies, is being able to dip those sweet cookies into an even sweeter cookie dip, thanks the Cookie Dip Company who provided an array of deliciously addicting cookie dip flavors made from all natural ingredients. Perfect for private parties, there’s never a frown once the Cookie Dip Company comes around. www.thecookiedipcompany.com
Arghhh…Pirates are we?
Native Son Brewery made a splash with their assortment of seafaring canned beers. Located inside the former Modern Times Brewery on 8th & Olive, Native Son features over 35 Craft Beers on Draft and offered some of those varieties for the food soirée. Food Voyage guests took their pick from the ship’s tiny treasure chest, which also included gift bags filled with high spirits and thirst quenching chasers.
