After Hours Vintage: Why LA’s Burlesque Stars and Creatives Are Flocking to This Vintage Hideaway

After Hours Vintage is a boutique and production studio devoted to the golden age of Hollywood’s cocktail scene – where drinks are mixed with ceremony and hosting is a performance. Founded by two friends with a disdain for the modern world and a love of theatrics, the space is intimate and cinematic. Complete with a piano, the ladies frequently host performers and hold intimate cocktail parties for those in the know.

Bridget, set decorator and fixture of LA’s luxury estate-sale circuit, and Liza, writer and Broadway enthusiast, curate a collection that could have been lifted from the set of Casablanca. Inspired by the shadowed mischief of film noir, shopping at After Hours is an experience. The chandelier is dimmed, heavy velvet drapes are drawn, candle wax is dripping. No matter the hour, it always feels like the stroke of midnight.

Often dressed like a Hollywood madame in a silk kimono,  Bridget and her Pomeranian Gidget may offer a cup of tea out of Victorian porcelain or a crystal snifter of Benedictine. She delights in telling the story behind each piece of their hand-selected collection. Barware, costume jewelry, cocktail attire, and art once owned by film stars, musicians, and cultural icons sit alongside statement pieces such as a sculptural Moroccan camel table, and an art deco cigarette dispenser. Every cut-crystal glass is chosen with one question in mind: Would Joan Collins throw a drink in someone’s face with this?
