The legendary Dave Grohl tuned up to headline an evening of unity, music, and profound impact at the LA Mission at BOC gala. While he was best known as the powerhouse behind the Foo Fighters, and yes, the one-and-only drummer for Nirvana, this night featured the entire current Foo Fighters lineup—including Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee, and Josh Freese—alongside fellow Nirvana icon Krist Novoselic.
This massive meeting of musical minds underscored a landmark occasion: two of Los Angeles’ most trusted and impactful homeless-services organizations. Emceed by the masterful host of Survivor, Jeff Probst, the evening honored Grohl and Dennis Oleesky (CEO, Los Angeles Mission) for their tireless efforts to uplift Angelenos experiencing homelessness.

Hope the Mission and Los Angeles Mission, joined forces for one spectacular, resource-amplifying night. The red carpet was buzzing with an all-star cast of supporters, including Judd Apatow, Leslie Mann, Jeff Garlin, Michael Jai White, and many others, all stepping out to prove that in L.A., they knew how to rock for a reason.
This high-impact gala was all about making a difference, benefiting critical citywide services like meals, shelter, recovery and mental health support, family services, workforce training, and pathways to long-term housing. The reason for uniting was simple: by combining their efforts for one night, Hope the Mission and Los Angeles Mission amplified resources, visibility, and results, fueling year-round programs where the need was greatest, from Skid Row to the Valley.
