Netflix Meets CicLAvia on Melrose Ave with Stranger Things 5 – One Last Ride

What happens when the worlds of a pop culture phenomenon and the largest public open streets bikeride collide? A partnership between Netflix and CicLAvia to celebrate the upcoming fifth and final season of Stranger Things.

Titled “Stranger Things 5 One Last Ride,” the event will take place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will transform a 4-mile stretch of car-free open streets on Melrose Avenue, connecting Fairfax and Vermont, into a pop-up park where the street is reimagined as Hawkins and the Upside Down. This marks CicLAvia’s 64th open streets event since its inception in 2010.

This is a free event open to everyone of all ages and abilities, inviting fans to bike, skate, walk, jog, or stroll the route in their favorite people-powered way. Participants can start anywhere along the route at any time. Fans are encouraged to go full 1980s by dressing up as their favorite Hawkins character, a monster from the Upside Down, or in ’80s-inspired neon, leg warmers, or windbreakers. The event will immerse fans in the world of Stranger Things with attractions including immersive photo ops, pedal-powered activations, live entertainment, merch, and giveaways. There will also be an exclusive content drop days before Stranger Things 5 Volume 1 is released on Netflix on November 26 at 5 p.m. PT. Additionally, participants can take part in a special quest along the route, racking up collectible stamps on a quest map to unlock further surprises.

The route features three Hubs—the Fairfax Hub (east of Fairfax Ave), the Melrose Hub (near Windsor Blvd), and the Vermont Hub (west of Vermont Ave)—which serve as meeting points and are mandatory walking zones (bike dismounts required). These hubs provide essential services such as family-friendly activities, restrooms, free water refilling stations, free basic bike repair, bike parking, and first aid. Free pedicab rides are available at each hub’s information booth. The hubs are also where participants can pick up the quest map, engage with partners, and purchase official Netflix x CicLAvia merchandise.

CicLAvia, a nonprofit inspired by Bogotá’s weekly ciclovía, temporarily closes streets to car traffic in Los Angeles to promote active transportation, good health, and a more sustainable, climate-resilient city.

Regarding mobility, only people-powered vehicles are permitted. No electric scooters, electric skateboards, hoverboards, electric unicycles, motorcycles, or other non-people-powered vehicles are allowed.

However, motorized wheelchairs are permitted, and the hubs and facilities are ADA compliant. Specific e-bike rules allow Class 1 e-bike pedal-assist, Class 2 e-bikes with the throttle powered off, and Class 3 e-bikes with pedal-assist powered off. Participants assume all known and unknown risks of participation in the event. www.ciclavia. org/
