Art Battle Joins Forces with Sharpie Permanently Marking its Triumph Return

Art Battles La

Since 2001, Art Battle has been engaged audiences and artists alike with their timed competitions putting artists against artists with attendees picking the winners. In that time Art Battle has hosted more than 3,000 events worldwide, giving the world a view inside the creative process of 10,000+ talented artists.

Usually known for its clash of acrylics, oils, charcoal and pen; and recently back from a 2 year hiatus, on Saturday, Aug. 24, Art Battle returns in a big way with world renowned Sharpie® brand sponsoring the event that boast three rounds of live art.

Attendees should expect the same level of excitement only this time Art Battle artists will arm themselves with an arsenal of Sharpie products, including the New Sharpie Creative Markers and Art Battle paint.

Known for its precision and performance, it was 1964, when the iconic Sharpie Fine Point black marker became the first pen-style permanent marker. Today, Sharpie offers a wide selection of permanent markers, pens, highlighters, and more, for the classroom, office, and home.

The fast paced art event fills quickly with LA’s top artists against national competitors who step to their easels against the clock for a chance at audience votes, prizes, and the title of Champion.

“Sharpie Creative Markers unleash a new way to create at Art Battle by popping with bold color on nearly any surface,” said Gina Lázaro, Vice President, Brand Management, Writing at Newell Brands. “These paint-like acrylic markers give artists in this competition the opportunity to freely express themselves using tools that can turn any canvas into a work of art.”

“The New Sharpie Creative Marker is a phenomenal tool for our artists as they create live,” shared Simon Plashkes, Co-Founder at Art Battle.“The bullet tip is way ahead of the competition, and the brush tip is like nothing we have seen before – it truly empowers an entirely new array of strategies in time-limited competition.”

More fun for the crowd
