LUMINEX 3.0 – Back and Brighter Than Ever

LUMINEX 3.0

LUMINEX, the spectacular self guided art event that transforms downtown architecture into an outdoor canvas, is now in its third edition and scheduled for October, 5, 2024.

For one night only, LUMINEX 3.0 will be free and open to all, in support of nine multimedia artists who will transform a five-block radius in the South Park of downtown Los Angeles.

This nighttime urban awakening is walkable and welcomes attendees to travel short distances to site-specific realms of projected creativity. Anything from enormous eyeballs to tremendous abstracts of color fearlessly turn downtown’s distinct concrete and imperfect brick-laden walls into multiples of gargantuan projector screens.

Within the absence of a formidable downtown Art Walk, LUMINEX quickly became a town favorite. Among its distinguished awards, LUMINEX has been recognized by the local community as TimeOut LA’s Best of 2021, a TEDx Talk on ‘The healing power of public art,’ and more.

Curated by Carmen Zella, Founder & Chief Curator of NXT/NOW Art, LUMINEX showcases internationally acclaimed and emerging Los Angeles-based artists.

LUMINEX 3.0 presented by NOW Art spans sound art installations, performances, and multichannel works by artists JOJO ABOT, Refik Anadol, Alice Bucknell, Nao Bustamante, Petra Cortright, Marc Horowitz, Carole Kim, and Sarah Rara.

An opening event will be held at 11th and Margo St, from 7 PM. www.luminexla.com
