Shohei Ohtani Buys A Mansion Just Minutes away from Dodger Stadium

It’s been a whirlwind 2024 for Los Angeles Dodgers Superstar Shohe Ohtani. After signing a ten year contract for $700 million, Shohei Ohtani just splurged $7.85 million for a modern mansion in La Cañada Flintridge.

The seller was none other than comedian Adam Carolla, who snapped up the property for $7.32 million back in 2018. Ohtani’s new crib is just a 20-minute drive from Dodger Stadium in Elysian Park, a sweet 13-mile commute for the star player. At $7.85 million, this sale ranks among the priciest ever in the foothill community.

Carolla originally listed the mansion for $8.99 million last summer, but an October price cut took it down to $8.35 million.

Built in 2013, the three-story home covers 7,327 square feet and sits on nearly an acre. Its sleek modern exterior opens up to midcentury-inspired interiors — blending stone, glass and wood under skylights and clerestory windows.

Ohtani’s new palace boasts a custom kitchen, an indoor-outdoor living room — and top-notch amenities like a movie theater, a sauna, a gym and a basketball court. There are five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, including a primary suite with a balcony and a spa tub.

New Training Camps for the Chargers, Saints

The Los Angeles Chargers will set up at their new training complex in El Segundo after seven years at a municipal sports facility in Orange County’s Costa Mesa, while the Dallas Cowboys will train at their usual spot in Oxnard.

In addition, The New Orleans Saints are taking over the Rams’ former home at UC Irvine this summer, while the Las Vegas Raiders will train in the Chargers’ former training camp home in Costa Mesa.

The team’s offseason program is still being held on the campus of California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, its weekday home ever since the Rams returned to LA. The Rams eventually will build a permanent complex in Woodland Hills, but will again be in temporary facilities on the new site until its completion.

For nearly three weeks, LMU will become the Rams’ house as coaches and players stay in residence halls, train in the Lions’ athletics facilities, and hold meetings and share meals on campus.

Open practice days will offer live entertainment, photo opportunities with Rams cheerleaders and mascot Rampage, family-friendly activities, giveaways and more. Specific dates, practice times and information about how to reserve free tickets will be announced in the coming weeks.
