With a cornucopia of fitness gyms, day spas, and athletic facilities, South Park of downtown Los Angeles quickly became a place known for its vitality and health-conscious spirit. At its foundation, amidst it all is Dignity Health – California Hospital Medical Center standing as a beacon for this thriving downtown community and setting a standard for healthcare excellence in a vibrant urban setting.

Renowned as a High Performing hospital in the specialties of Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, Pneumonia, and Stroke, the recognition marks the highest distinction attainable within U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings.

These annual ratings are meticulously designed to guide patients and their physicians in making informed choices regarding where to seek care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.

Alina Moran, CHMC Hospital President, expresses their pride, stating, “We’re honored to be recognized as a hospital that is high-performing in four diverse specialties. These rankings amplify the California Hospital team’s expertise and commitment to continuously improve the quality and safety of the care we provide.”

U.S. News conducted a rigorous evaluation of over 4,500 hospitals, spanning 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions. Hospitals designated as “Best” excelled across critical criteria, including clinical outcomes, nursing care quality, and the patient experience.

Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, underscores the significance of this recognition, emphasizing that fewer than half of evaluated hospitals received a High Performing rating. Hospitals bestowed with this distinction have demonstrated excellence in delivering high-quality care for specific procedures and conditions.
