Los Angeles City Hall will light up in vibrant LA For All colors tonight, joining 12 other landmarks across the city to mark the fifth anniversary of the “LA Is For Everyone” campaign. The citywide display brings the campaign’s message against hate to buildings, fountains and digital boards from Downtown to the Port of Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles City Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department launched the campaign in 2020 in response to rising hate incidents. Now available in 21 languages, its message appears in more than 20,000 locations, including sanitation vehicles, public transit, parks, libraries, LAX kiosks and local business storefronts. The grant-funded campaign received a Bronze Award from the American Advertising Federation in 2022.
“Los Angeles is a city for everyone, and LA For All makes that message clear: hate has no place in our communities,” said Mayor Karen Bass. “For five years, this campaign has brought Angelenos together to celebrate our diversity, and we will continue building a city where everyone feels welcome, respected and protected.”
Downtown viewers can see City Hall, the 3rd Street Tunnel, U.S. Bank Tower, the Los Angeles Convention Center’s digital boards, the Los Angeles Public Library and the fountains at the John Ferraro Building, also known as the LADWP Building, take part in the display.
“Today’s gathering is a powerful reminder that every Angeleno—regardless of background—deserves to feel supported, protected, and celebrated in our city,” said Capri Maddox, executive director of the LA Civil Rights Department. “We extend our deepest gratitude to Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martínez (CD13) for illuminating City Hall this year, and to Mayor Bass for her steadfast support of our mission to build an ‘LA For All’.”
Beyond Downtown, participating landmarks are the L.A. Zoo, digital boards at Cal State LA and BMO Stadium, the Department of Cultural Affairs’ Madrid, Taxco and Vision theatres, and the Port of Los Angeles Clock Tower. The Vision Theatre will feature both illumination and a digital board.
All 13 locations are scheduled to display the campaign colors tonight, Friday, September 25, 2026, from dusk through late evening.
