Looking for a seat at the table?
Well, thanks to Bar Frances Pop Up Shop’s new spin on traditional fine dining, where food, wine, and entertainment come together with a side of inclusivity, there’s always room for one more.
Bar Frances is an inclusive, safe space for L.A.’s BIPOC and LGBTIA+ communities, as well as anyone else who wants to join the party.
Founded and operated by philanthropist and L.A. native Alix Fischer, Bar Frances aims to fill a void in the L.A. bar, entertainment, and dining scene by providing a safe space where everyone can come together. This summer, NAVEL LA in South Park will become that space.
NAVEL’s vintage DTLA construction already houses a collection of the artists, organizers, activists, writers, performers, and cultural workers, wrapped in exposed brick, who collaborate through gatherings and workshops to bring NAVEL to life.

Together, every 1st and 3rd Saturday through September, Fischer and NAVEL will present an all-new lineup of local chefs, cocktails, and DJs starting in May with Juliana Zarate and Danielle Buncik of OLA.
Their premier line-up also includes handcrafted cocktails by industry veteran and Bar Frances partner Mitchell Bushell, cuts by DJ Alaia, and live music with Max Naseck Key Bas Trio and Brandon Coleman.

So glad you asked… Bar France’s premier menu, presented by OLA on May 18th, will include Tehachapi Tostada made with Heirloom purple corn tostada, camote cashew crema, el chilito salsa macha, pickles, citrus, blang rangpur lime powder, and fennel. Tahitian Tombo Tuna Tartare with yuca chips, Kimchi chontaduro non-mayo, onion, and nigella seeds. Mussel Arroz Caldoso ~ soupy mussel rice with coconut cream fish broth, arroz bomba, and herbs and Green peppercorn salad, a mix of chicory, gems, fennel, Amazonian green peppercorn cornbread croutons, and tangerine vinaigrette.
For dessert, rum-raisin ice cream with caramel and live music as the cherry on top.
After dinner, the party continues with what we lovingly refer to as “The Disco,” where guests can dance the night away to live music and DJs while sipping on Californian wine, handcrafted cocktails, artisanal coffees, and late-night bites.
