A Night of Mystery, Music and Halloween Madness at MAZE

Arcade Fire, The Blaze and Claude VonStroke headline the third annual Halloween celebration, moving from Union Station to the Arts District for its largest production yet.
Something mysterious is taking shape in Downtown Los Angeles this Halloween, and it involves hidden passageways, strange encounters, elaborate installations and an entire Arts District block party dedicated to the unexpected.
THE MAZE returns Saturday, October 31, following two sold-out years at Union Station. This time, organizers SBCLTR and Minimal Effort are moving the event to a larger indoor-outdoor location, transforming the Arts District into a labyrinth of music, art and theatrical Halloween environments.
The evening’s musical lineup includes a special Arcade Fire DJ set featuring Win Butler and Paul Beaubrun, French electronic duo The Blaze performing live, and Los Angeles house music favorite Claude VonStroke. Additional performers include Porky b2b Bones, Valou, Araminta and Oren.
Beyond the music, THE MAZE takes its name seriously. Guests will encounter concealed pathways, roaming performers, themed spaces and large-scale installations designed to blur the boundaries between a traditional dance party and an immersive theatrical experience.
Multiple stages will accommodate open-air performances beneath the downtown skyline, while enclosed spaces will feature a state-of-the-art KV2 sound environment.
This year’s production will also include a tribute to French electronic musician Kavinsky, with dedicated installations and visual content recognizing his influence on electronic music.
Now in its third year, THE MAZE represents another example of the Arts District’s growing role as a destination for large-scale nightlife and experimental entertainment.
Exactly what awaits around each corner remains part of the mystery.

Eight Floors Above Temptation: Halloween at Level 8

A night of saints and sinners, virtue and vice, unfolds across five venues above Downtown Los Angeles, where even the fear of missing out has become a sin.
There are seven deadly sins. At Level 8 in Downtown Los Angeles, apparently, seven simply aren’t enough.
On Halloween night, October 31, the sprawling entertainment destination inside the Moxy Downtown Los Angeles will introduce an eighth sin: FOMO, the fear of missing out.
The evening’s theme explores the darker side of human nature, where temptation and restraint, innocence and indulgence, saints and sinners exist uncomfortably close together.
Across five distinct venues, the celebration will unfold through a series of contrasting environments, each offering its own interpretation of nightlife and theatrical spectacle.
At Sinners y Santos, a cathedral-inspired nightclub with a distinctly rebellious streak, religious imagery meets Mexican wrestling culture. Paying homage to legendary luchador El Santo, the venue features a wrestling ring that descends from the ceiling, transforming the nightclub into an unexpected arena.
Elsewhere, Mr. Wanderlust offers a more eccentric atmosphere, combining theatrical interiors, cocktails, live music and surprise performances.
Above the city, Golden Hour provides another contrast entirely, with its rooftop pool, carousel bar and sweeping views of Downtown Los Angeles.
Throughout the evening, fire dancers, wrestlers, acrobats and immersive performers will appear alongside DJs spinning R&B, Hip-Hop, EDM, House, Reggaeton and Latin music.
Produced within the elaborate world of Level 8, the Halloween celebration blurs the lines between spectacle and nightlife, allowing guests to move between five venues, each with its own atmosphere.
Whether the evening reveals more saints than sinners remains to be seen.
After all, temptation takes many forms. And at Level 8, even missing the party has become one of them.
The Deadly Sins Halloween Party takes place Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 9 PM to 2 AM at Level 8, located at 1254 S. Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles. General admission, open bar packages and table service are available through Eventbrite
Is It Magic or Something More at Manuela?

Magician and mentalist Will Coile brings an evening of illusion, mind reading and psychological mystery to Manuela’s garden in Downtown Los Angeles.
Not everything that goes bump in the night is a ghost. Sometimes, it’s something far more difficult to explain.
This Halloween, the garden at Manuela in Downtown Los Angeles’ Arts District becomes the setting for an unusual encounter with the unexplained, as magician and mentalist Will Coile presents Magic Happens on Halloween, an intimate evening of illusion, sleight of hand and mind reading.
Unlike traditional Halloween spectacles built around elaborate costumes and frightening attractions, Coile’s performance explores something more unsettling: the uncertainty of what the human mind can actually perceive.
His theatrical approach combines psychological illusion, humor and personal storytelling, often leaving audiences questioning whether they’ve witnessed an elaborate trick, an extraordinary coincidence or something beyond explanation.
Coile’s performances have taken him to Cannes, Sundance, SXSW and Soho House locations around the world, earning attention for their unusual combination of technical precision and emotional storytelling.
Filmmaker Rian Johnson, director of Knives Out, has described Coile’s work as a “borderline spiritual experience,” while theater critics have praised his ability to balance impressive illusions with moments of humor and self-reflection.
For Halloween, Coile brings a specially designed performance to Manuela’s outdoor garden, exchanging the traditional theater stage for a more intimate setting where the distance between performer and audience becomes part of the mystery.
There may be no haunted houses, monsters or things lurking in the shadows.
But when the evening ends, the question may remain: was it all an illusion, or did something extraordinary actually happen?
Magic Happens on Halloween takes place Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Manuela, located at 907 E. 3rd Street in Downtown Los Angeles. Doors open at 7 PM, with the performance beginning at 8 PM. Tickets are $28.52, with limited VIP experiences available. The event is restricted to guests 21 and older. Street parking and valet service are available.
Digital Afterlife: An Artistic Turn at RIZO CORP Gallery

Downtown Los Angeles’ Gallery Row explores the strange intersection of technology, creativity and the supernatural with a Halloween celebration dedicated to art, music and imagination.
What happens to our digital identities after we’re gone? Do they disappear, or do they linger somewhere in the endless corridors of cyberspace?
This Halloween, RIZO CORP Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles is exploring the eerie possibilities with its Digital Afterlife Halloween Bash, an evening where technology, artistic expression and the supernatural meet.
Located along historic Spring Street, RIZO CORP is part of Downtown’s independent gallery community, where unconventional spaces provide artists with opportunities to exhibit their work and connect with audiences outside traditional museum settings.
The gallery’s presence contributes to the creative culture of Gallery Row, a district shaped by independent artists, exhibition spaces and the ongoing transformation of Downtown Los Angeles into a destination for contemporary art.
For Halloween, the gallery will exchange its usual exhibition atmosphere for something considerably darker.
Immersive art installations combining digital concepts with traditional Halloween imagery will share space with local DJs, while costumed guests become part of the evening’s visual spectacle.
A costume competition adds another creative dimension, awarding $300 for first place, $100 for second and $50 for third. Participants can register online or at the door.
Rather than relying entirely on conventional Halloween scares, Digital Afterlife draws its inspiration from a more contemporary mystery: the increasingly blurred boundary between human identity, technology and whatever might exist beyond the physical world.
The Digital Afterlife Halloween Bash takes place Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 7 PM to 11 PM at RIZO CORP Gallery, located at 719 S. Spring Street in Downtown Los Angeles. RSVP re
