H&H Brazilian: Probably the Best All-You-Can-Eat, All-You-Can-Spend Bargain in Downtown LA

When H&H Brazilian Steakhouse opened its doors on March 21, 2019, along Downtown Los Angeles’ bustling Seventh Street restaurant corridor, it introduced a delicious new way to experience Brazilian barbecue. Seven years later, the independently owned restaurant has grown from one ambitious Downtown dining establishment into a three-location operation stretching from Los Angeles to Central Florida, proving that a generous helping of great food, hospitality and good business sense can go a long way.

Behind the success is Brazilian entrepreneur, restaurateur and sommelier Henrique Huyer, who spent a decade working with Brazilian steakhouse giant Fogo de Chão, including four years managing its Downtown Los Angeles location. With a passion for authentic Brazilian cuisine and a strong understanding of the city’s dining market, Huyer decided to build something of his own.

The original H&H Brazilian Steakhouse opened at 518 W. Seventh Street, occupying approximately 4,620 square feet previously home to So Long Hi and Soi 7. Huyer transformed the property into a contemporary Brazilian churrascaria, offering premium grilled meats, fresh organic produce, South American wines and a dining experience centered on traditional Brazilian hospitality.

The restaurant’s success eventually led to a second location at the Beverly Center, which opened in April 2022 at 8500 Beverly Boulevard. The spacious restaurant introduced H&H’s signature dining experience to the Beverly Grove and Beverly Hills market, complete with exposed wood beams, an inviting bar, patio seating, a fireplace and several dining areas designed for both intimate gatherings and large celebrations.

On November 6, 2025, H&H expanded beyond California with its third restaurant, opening at 3250 Rolling Oaks Boulevard in Kissimmee, Florida, near Walt Disney World. The expansion marked an important milestone for Henrique and co-owner Hérica Huyer, both originally from southern Brazil, as they brought their interpretation of traditional churrasco to the Orlando tourism market.

But the restaurant’s original Downtown location remains an especially attractive destination for anyone looking to enjoy an extravagant meal without sacrificing variety.

At H&H, the star attraction is the traditional Brazilian rodízio experience, where gaucho chefs circulate through the dining room carrying skewers of freshly grilled meats, slicing generous portions directly onto guests’ plates. The parade of savory selections seems almost endless, featuring picanha, the prized Brazilian sirloin cap, garlic picanha, tender maminha tri-tip, H&H steak, lamb, chicken and Brazilian sausage.

Each cut brings something different to the table. The picanha is especially satisfying, with its rich beef flavor and beautifully rendered fat. The garlic picanha delivers a fragrant, savory bite, while the lamb offers another layer of richness. For serious meat lovers, the pleasure is in sampling several cuts, discovering favorites and welcoming another serving whenever the gauchos return.

And there’s much more than steak.

The restaurant’s Farm Table offers a generous selection of fresh salads, chef-prepared proteins and hot and cold dishes. Traditional Brazilian cheese bread, creamy mashed potatoes, crispy polenta, golden bananas and grilled pineapple add delightful contrasts to the savory meats. The warm cheese bread alone is enough to make a strong first impression, while the sweet, cinnamon-kissed pineapple offers a refreshing finish to the heavier courses.

For guests who prefer to order individually, H&H also offers a tempting selection of à la carte dishes, including truffle filet mignon served with asparagus risotto, lamb chops with mashed potatoes, grilled salmon, branzino, shrimp limone pasta and the H&H Burger with its signature Brazilian sauce.

Dessert brings another round of indulgence, with Brazilian-style caramel flan, passion fruit mousse, raspberry ice cake and warm chocolate petit gâteau served with vanilla ice cream.

The atmosphere is equally appealing. H&H balances the sophistication of an upscale steakhouse with the warmth and energy of a lively neighborhood restaurant. The dining room is polished without feeling overly formal, making it equally suitable for business dinners, romantic evenings, family celebrations or simply treating oneself to a particularly satisfying meal.

One of the restaurant’s most impressive features is its striking wall of wine, an expansive display of bottles arranged in a towering wine rack that adds character and sophistication to the dining room. More than just decoration, the display reflects H&H’s appreciation for fine wines and the Brazilian tradition of pairing expertly grilled meats with a great glass of red. With a selection that highlights South American vineyards alongside other international offerings, the wine collection creates an elegant backdrop for dinner while giving guests plenty of reasons to explore the restaurant’s carefully selected bottles. It’s a memorable visual feature that helps distinguish H&H from the typical Downtown steakhouse.

And for those who would rather enjoy a few drinks and appetizers than commit to an entire steakhouse dinner, the bar may be one of Downtown’s better-kept bargains.

H&H’s happy hour is available all day, every day, exclusively in the bar area. Guests can order truffle parmesan fries for $9, crispy onion rings for $8, chicken sliders for $9, beef sliders for $11, fish and chips for $11 or chicken tenders for $9. The drink specials are equally approachable, with $5 Corona and Heineken beers, $9 glasses of house red or white wine and a $10 shot-and-beer combination.

Beyond happy hour, the full bar celebrates Brazilian flavors with a cocktail selection that includes the traditional caipirinha, passion fruit variations, the Brazilian Paloma and the Rio Margarita. The restaurant’s South American wine selections also complement the grilled meats, giving guests plenty of reasons to linger over another glass.

Weekend brunch adds yet another opportunity to indulge, with the restaurant offering its churrasco experience and bottomless mimosas for $25 per person with a food purchase and a 90-minute limit.

The restaurant has also developed a reputation as a destination for private celebrations and corporate entertaining. Its Downtown location offers several event spaces, including The Light Private Room, an intimate setting featuring a dramatic wall of vintage lights, curtains and a wine cellar. Accommodating up to 26 guests, the room features dimmable lighting suitable for presentations, private dinners, birthdays and wedding celebrations.

Another option, The Barn, offers a warm, rustic atmosphere for intimate celebrations, corporate gatherings and special occasions, with customized dining and beverage service. Larger groups can take advantage of the main dining room, known as the Lacador Room, and additional restaurant space, with full-venue arrangements accommodating up to 250 guests depending on the setup.

From small private dinners to substantial corporate receptions, the combination of event space, Brazilian barbecue, cocktails and attentive service makes H&H an appealing alternative to a traditional banquet venue.

What began as one Brazilian entrepreneur’s vision in Downtown Los Angeles has grown into a recognizable restaurant brand with locations on both coasts. Yet the appeal of H&H Brazilian Steakhouse remains remarkably simple: delicious food, generous portions, a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the experience without breaking the bank.

Whether arriving hungry enough for an endless procession of grilled meats or simply stopping by the bar for a $5 beer and a plate of appetizers, H&H continues to make a convincing case for being one of Downtown Los Angeles’ most satisfying dining bargains.

H&H Brazilian Steakhouse is located at 518 W. Seventh Street, Los Angeles, CA 90014. Dinner is served Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., with weekend service beginning at 11:30 a.m. For more information, visit www.hhsteakhouse.com or call [(213) 266-8103](tel:(213) 266-8103).
